• TRANSFORMER ON FIRE

    By Philiphine c Koima
A transformer, located a few meters past  hostel M, went up in flames Located just past Hostel M yesterday night causing another trauma after the heartless murder of one lady comrade. Chilled, Students from various hostels flocked to the scene to earn the first hand information.
The fire went off a few minutes later leaving C houses, hostel K and L in total darkness. By default, Soweto was subjected to darkness too.  Students had to go to bed with empty stomachs following the incident. Many of them could not accept that they had to sleep with hunger after which time dictated to them hours later when nothing seemed to happen.
Until this morning, at around 10:30 am, electricity was a story to tell. Everybody went to class wondering the eventual fate of the day with those with their laptops clicking millionth times. Patience pays. Everybody could be seen nodding between the unseen applause and the fading gloom. From a distance I could see students expeditiously streaming back to their rooms despite lectures being on.

    1. electricity breakdown in a big institution like Moi University cause losses. students are most affected because most of them uses digital systems to study which relies on electricity.

    2. I thought there were bullets being fired, recent experiences have instilled fear in students thus nobody knows what would happen next
