As a result, thousands of students gathered together
to protest against the insecurity level which has aroused concern amongst the
students recently. According to the furious protestors, there have been a lot
of criminal acts within the university but nothing seems to have been done to
curb the situation by the university.
“Hakuna
security hii campus, mara kuibiwa, mara kuuwawa. This is more than enough. The
university wametuambia no more rooms available, where do day expect us to live
in?” one of the protestors said. The
police’s efforts to end the tension went silent after the protestors turned to
them with stones and tree branches sending them away a few minutes
later.
The students
learnt of the suspects’ hideout later after which they broke into and beat them
mercilessly calling for the GSU to come to their rescue. The suspects have been
arrested and now are under the police custody.
The body of
the deceased was later ferried to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary
for preservation and investigations.
May your
soul rest in eternal peace, our departed colleague.
RIP Charity.
