Everlyne Nyanchoka gives an account of her  slavery while he was in a relationship with Joseph Okaya. Okaya is a student in Moi University Main Campus Eldoret. He is the 'prince of grooming' in the university as students refer him. Yes, he is ever smart. He is always in his suit from Sunday to  Friday. His color blending talent adds him additional attractive feature. When in his bow-tie, one can never mistake him for an hustler.It his because of his abject love for gorgeous dressing and celebrity nature that Joseph was nicknamed O.K.
It was on one of the most treasured campus occasion "Freshaas nite" when Everlyne Met O.K. Both had attended the occasion on the basis of being inculcated in the Campus. "I was convinced with my friends to accompany them to the Student Centre that night. I wore my blue dress which i was told was the best for such occasion. And just before we entered the auditorium, we met this man and he was quick to greet us. He was in royal Blue suit, white shirt and Blue bow-tie" Everlyne narrates.
According to her, everything started there. O.K accompanied the 'friends' later to their room in hostel J. Everlyne's heart grew fonder every knew day with his campus lover.  Days became weeks, weeks became months, but months never came to be years.
six months later, "exposure" took most of O.K. By then he knew the university well. He was becoming a celebrity. He was making technical appearances whenever he felt he should see Everlyne. He was already finding his way out of Everlyne's life. It even reached a point where he told her to quit and find herself another man.

Everlyne was depressed. " Death was my constant companion,  I never attended lectures for nearly the whole of second semester" She notes. She says she even made a point to meet with her mentor but still it was a hell to face the reality.
Everlyne's story reminded of some things we do in a relationship that jeopardizes future. Imagine a scenario like this;  you sleep while unhappy because your boyfriend quarreled with you that you don't call him yet he calls you only at night; You fear mingling with your friends because he always think they are your 'other' boyfriends; you sometimes don't go for lecture because he wants to be with you when he is not busy; you go to his church just to please him and NOT God; and perhaps you spend sleepless nights thinking of how he talks to you.
Do you think such character will marry you?
I'm told your partner should be your number one friend. He should never be your boss. The best marriages are made by friends, not masters and subjects. Yes he is the head of the family by default. No one disputes that.

O.K was right because he meet Everlyne when she was desperately in need of love. He was also being stupid for awakening love in a woman with not intention to love.
Everlyne was also being ridiculous for building castle in the air. Begging for his attention should never be your alternative. Let him beg for yours. After all, he is just a boyfriend, not your husband. If his time has expired let him go for new things to happen in your life.

'You Are Bound for Hell!'

These were the exact words of Moi University dean of Students Dr. Rev John Ayieko during the Moi University Christian Union  inauguration service of the SEC commissioners at lecture hall one (LH1) on Sunday 10th, 2016. The dean was telling the SEC commissioners on the exclusive event  graced by him and his wife Bilha Ayieko.
Speaking at the service where he was the speaker of the day, the dean warns the commissioners of misconduct during the course of student election. "Whoever will be dishonest, corrupt, tribalistic and without integrity is heading to hell. Hell awaits you". He plea with the commissioners to be rational and neutral in executing their roles to ensure peaceful elections.
While preaching at the service, the dean notes that the tribal lines has divided students to an alarming percentage.  According to the Dr Rev Ayieko, tribalism in discriminating against others on basis of race, tribe, ethnic group, culture and way of life. 
University elections countrywide has taken a new form over the last two/three years. Tribalism and ethnicity seem to have planted their roots deep into the university students. They vote along tribal lines which has compromised the meaning of "university". University means having characteristics of "all-inclusive". Students come from different backgrounds with totally varied characteristics. As such, university students are expected to share among themselves and exchange cultures. It is also expected that they are agents of change in the current contemporary society. They are therefore the ones to  promote national cohesion and togetherness through exchange of culture and way of living.
However, this is not the case with the current Kenyan university students. The tribal rift is widening day by day. Elections for 2015/16 were so wary that students in Moi university had to vacate the institution for a week. Several other students were suspended from the university for insightment. Some property was  also destroyed.
This year in the same university, things seem not to be alright. Students are colluding according to regions and tribes to form coalitions in the name of "to reflect national politics".
Dr Rev Ayieko was therefore invited to preside over the service. The Moi university Christian union gave him a topical theme to preach on.  The theme was: Tribalism and Politics. In an effort to ensure peaceful elections, the dean condemned any form of irregularity among the SEC commissioners. He urges every student to be vigilant and report any misconduct noted in the course of elections. "be your brother's keeper".   

Six killed, scores unaccounted for as gunmen attack Mandera bus

Six people are dead after gunmen attacked two buses in  Mandera County this morning. The PSV buses were attacked between El Wak and Wargadud towns.
According to North Eastern Regional Coordinator Mahmoud Saleh, many other commuters were injured while others are still unaccounted for.
The attack is suspected to have been carried out by alshabaab malitia, Who have over time, disturb the country's peace. Many Country's innocent souls have been lost to the attacks of the alshabaab in recent past: think of Garissa Mass Massacre; think of The El Ade attack; think of the Westgate Mall attack; think of kapedo; just to mention a few.
 It is such a sad retrospect but the reality is much bitter.

The NMG will fire some of its employees in a plan aimed at transiting the company to a "modern 21st  digital content company", with the plan set to take effect on 30th June 2016.
The media house seeks to close down Nation FM, QTV and Rwandan KFM   and run NTV as its only multi-lingual station

"Regrettably this will result in a reduction of our workforce through job redundancies," Nation said, noting the changes are effective June 30.
The media house also aims at maintaining online presence in order to reach global audience and keep pace with the growing technology in compliance with  its digital strategy. 
"We will strive to provide all the necessary support to help them manage through this transition."

The mobile operator yesterday launched a service that will see its callers refunded for an extra minute talk time to compensate inconvenience caused while on the network by call drops.
This service seeks to gather for the complaints of the customers over the quality of network and set it apart from other mobile service providers in a highly competitive market.
Speaking at the launch yesterday, Safaricom's Chief Executive Officer Bob Collymore said the company has been working on the service for about five weeks and is now set to be active.
"we have piloted the service for about five weeks now and every caller will have a maximum of five refunds a day of a maximum of 60 second each refund," says Collymore.
The company launch three products yesterday namely: Safaricom guarantee; My data manager; and My subscription manager. it says the three products are aimed at returning the power to decide when a call or data plan is disconnected.
Every time a call is disconnected, the mobile operator will send a short message with an apology and a refund of 60 seconds talk time.

The politicians include Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama and woman representatives Florence Mutua (Busia) and Aisha Jumwa (Kilifi), MPs Moses Kuria (Gatundu South), Kimani Ngunjiri (Bahati) and Ferdinand Waititu (Kabete), Junet Mohamed (Suna East) and Timothy Bosire (Kitutu Masaba) were today arraigned in Milimani  Law courts to face the charges listed against them.

 Little is known and has been written about The Ngabunat caves. But if the residents of Nandi County talks about it, you will  surely be amazed at the special roles it played and still plays being at the heart of the county's tourism industry.
 Nandi County is a well known tourism potential hub that has not been unleashed . The county which is rich in many tourist attraction sites have lost  millions of money due to poor policies by the former leadership in the county.

The county has various tourist attraction sites ranging from the famous Kingwal swamp which is the habitat of the rare species of antelopes called sitatunga, Nandi rock which iis in the border of Nandi county and kisumu county,Keben springs, Kiplolok waters, Chepkiit water falls,tabolwa rock, Koitalel somoei mausoleum and Bonjoge national reserve & Ngabunat caves.

 Located in Kapchorua ward, Ngabunat Caves has attracted lots of local tourists from within and outside the region. its serine  environment makes the place perfect for excursion. It has a waterfall that adds to the site's aesthetics with baboons  and other wildlife hovering around. I bet, one visit to the place can make you appreciate the county and its environs. The county government is making efforts to improve the sitealthough it is still at its infancy stages. 

However, the issue of tourism in Nandi will bring a lot of revenue and income to the county if the county government will seriously work on it.

Nigeria's legend dies at 54

Nigeria 2013 Afcon winning and 2014 World Cup coach and iconic former captain Stephen Okechukwu Keshi has suddenly died at 54, his family announced.
Emmanuel Ado a brother to the late coach told Nigeria’s Premium Times the revered Super Eagles captain died of Cardiac arrest in the early hours of Wednesday, June 8.
“With thanksgiving to God, the Ogbuenyi Fredrick Keshi family of Illah in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State announces the death of Mr. Stephen Okechukwu Chinedu Keshi,” Mr. Ado said in a statement.
He continued “Our son, brother, father, father-in-law, brother-in-law, has gone to be with his wife of 35 years (Nkem ), Mrs. Kate Keshi, who passed on on the 9th December 2015.
“Since her death, Keshi has been in mourning. He came back to Nigeria to be with her. He had planned to fly back today Wednesday, before he suffered a cardiac arrest. He has found rest.”
Though deeply mourning the shock exit, Mr. Ado said the family remained grateful to God for the life spent by the Big Boss.
Keshi had lost his wife of 35 years, Kate, to cancer last December.
Keshi, popularly called the Big Boss, is the only Nigerian coach to have won the Africa Cup of Nations.

He also became the second person in history to win the competition as a player and as a coach after Mahmoud El-Gohary of Egypt when he led the Super Eagles to win the tournament in 2013 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
He rose to national prominence when debuted for the Super Eagles in 1981 at age 20. The late Central Defender withdrew from the national team in 1994. He had 64 caps and scored nine goals.
As coach, he qualified an unlikely Togolese national team for the 2006 World Cup in Germany but was sacked and replaced with German Otto Pfister, just before the tournament.
He however, achieved his dream to manage a team at the World Cup when he coached the Super Eagles side to the tournament in 2014.
He is the fifth member of the glorious 1994 Super Eagles team to die, after Uche Okafor, Thompson Oliha, Rashidi Yekini and Wilfred Agbonavbare.
He is survived by four children and his mother.

FINAL DECISION ON DADAAB CLOSURE.

The closure of Dadaab Refugee Camp will go on as planned without contravening the international humanitarian law, the Government has said.
The Attorney General Githu Muigai said the decision to close the camp seeks to strike a balance between country's security interests and her obligations under the International Humanitarian Law.

Speaking at the opening of the 4th Regional seminar on Implementation of International Humanitarian Law at the Kenya school  of Government, Nairobi Yesterday, The AG said the country has taken great strides under the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) to liberate large parts of Somalia. he added that safe, secure and stable environment has been created in the country.

"The government as for many years and at times on its own played a significant part in ensuring peace and stability returns to Somalia. it is important to note that this decision is based on the practical realities of protracted refugees status that have had adverse effects on socioeconomic and political circumstances of host nations and especially in Kenya," said prof. Githu
