THE 22TH INAUGURAL LECTURE,
26TH FEB 2015
Call it pride.
Audacity.Immodest. But call it a characteristic. Moi University has and
continues exploring knowledge unknown to many even the so-called top most
personnel in governance. It has made intellects of varied diversity that have
earned respect and are sought after, all over the world. Prof. Chris Wekesa
Mukwa has unleashed his potential for the benefit of Moi University Fraternity
and the world at large. He has superior capabilities in research, extension and
education. He is indeed an academician in the make.
Yesterday
afternoon, hundreds gathered, thirsting for knowledge from the Professor
quenched a few minutes later when the professor stood upfront to deliver. The
title of the public lecture was “integration of Educational Technology in
Education; A vantage of Teacher Training at county level in Kenya”
The public
talk was not projected to any special group in particular, ranging from
executives to students: Prof. Ogechi, acting Vice-Chancellor and DVC student
affairs, Prof. S.K Mining, Director of Research, Prof. J. Kindiki, dean school
of Education, Prof. Washitemi, DVC Academics, Research and Extension, Prof.
W.C.Mukwa, the chief guest, Doctors and other teaching staff, non-teaching
staff, invited guests and students made the congregation. Prof. Cephas Odini and Prof Japhet Otike,
among others were also present.
“It is only
in Moi University where inaugural lectures have been integrated into the
institution’s culture making it exceptional from other public universities in
Kenya. We have considerable human resource with 35 full professors” said
Prof. Washitemi, the lecture’s M.C.
The 22th inaugural lecture is now a tale to narrate. Next in
March comes Prof. (Fr) K. Kahiga With his “Is human beings a person? An
interrogation of existence of human”, followed in quick succession by Prof.
Stanley M. Shitote with his “concrete in construction; an engineering survey”
in April.
Where will you be? Will you purpose to attend? Think about it
once, twice, trice, and make informed decision. Learning is timeless. It is a master key, opening every opportunity
door in life. Go for it. Get it. Use it. Death marks the end of learning.
wow! I can see I missed so many things but am sure I wont miss the next lecture on March, teachers really should learn more on the digital plartform
ReplyDeleteThat's a powerful ending there. Actually it's only death that ends learning.
ReplyDeleteyeah it is good to be informed, i see you gathered a lot but kindly please you should arrange to share that knowledge to us who didn't attend.
