On my quest to inquire about the pastor’s real
identity, I interviewed some of the relevant sources. According to chief
security officer Moi University Mr. Charles Jamanda, pastor is an employee
under the docket of security in Moi University.
According to the staff identification card, his real name is Sammy
Kimetto. Mr. Jamanda believes that ‘Pastor’ is mentally ill characterized by
low intelligence quotient and therefore is not bound to rules and regulations
concerning security work in Moi University.
According to Mr. Jamanda, ‘pastor’ earned his
employment through the courtesy of his hard work. He understands that ‘pastor’
use to wake as early as at 5.00 am and make several rounds at the university
grounds even before any other security personnel. The vice-chancellor, on
hearing of ‘pastor’s’ activities granted him a job as a security man.
When I interviewed Mr. Rono, a photographer at the
university, he admitted knowing pastor as a security officer employed by the
university. ‘Pastor’, according to Mr. Rono, has neither a specific task nor a
specific place to guard but he understands that pastor could identify any knew
person or any visitor in the institution. He also believes that pastor is a social
person but less in words. He has encountered on many conversations with him and
believes that’ pastor’ is happy talking on matters pertaining to development
and current affairs but dislikes anything feminine. According to his own
understanding, ‘pastor’ has no tribal identification but from his observation
he believes that ‘pastor’ could be a Turkana or a Pokot who was abandoned at
the university’s premises some years back.
He admits that he has not seen ‘pastor’ recently and
wonders of his whereabouts at the moment. He also says that at some instances
pastor clad in full security uniform and moved around with the notebook.
Actually, I didn't know that such a personality exists in Moi University, I really wish to meet this person
