• THE LIBRARY PROOFS SMALL FOR STUDENTS.

He peruse through the tallying book pages slowly by slowly looking at the days’ data carefully. He then past the book to the other checkpoint man murmuring to himself something I could not define. He did the same and looked up as though expecting some voice from nowhere. Then they looked at each other speechlessly. From a distance, one could think they were contemplating over their deaths but if you were near you could read a message from their faces.
A quest bagged my mind immediately on why were they behaving in a manner like that. I wondered, then crept near them and try to figure out carefully what was in their minds.
A difficult quiz requires creative answer. I had already drawn a plan to probe the matter. I behaved as if I want to get out but something was holding me back, moving my right legs to and fro. Peter, on seeing the state of my confusion broke the silence by calling on me, “Joy what is up?” This was the minute I was waiting for, someone to start the conversation. At least, I was figuring my triumph after all.
“I meant to work away but the memories of getting a missing mark are more than I can stand. The deadline is tomorrow and the WI-FI is so low. Don’t know what to do next.” I answered.
Expeditiously, he began uttering words like a chatterbox. I could not get everything but here are some that I managed to get clearly. “Thousands of students visit the library per day nowadays. The number of laptops signed in cannot be compared with ever before. The facilities remain the same and are expected to cater for the needs of all students and staff.”  Mr. Kemboi continuously nodded in union. Already I had gotten the answer. My creative nature was being instrumental.
From the beginning of this semester in January, Margret Thatcher Library has been busy like never before. All students whether working on their assignments or studying flock the library because they can be well assured of consistent electricity supply unlike the hostel whose power predictability as ceased to exist. For this reason, the library is always full to the capacity.
